Research Grants
Basic Requirements
Research grants are offered on a competitive basis. The duration of each project is from one to three years. However, applicants of approved multi-year projects should re-apply every subsequent year and submit a report of the progress of the project to the Taipei Center at the end of each year.
Applicants must have a full-time teaching or research position in an academic institution. Graduate students can apply only with their supervisor, in which case a certain amount of the grant can be used as stipend for the student.
The maximum amount per grant is EUR12,000 per year, of which a maximum of EUR6,000 may be used to cover research expenses. In addition, a maximum of EUR 6,000 may be used as a stipend to cover cost of living expenses. Research expenses include fieldwork expenses, book acquisition, and equipment below EUR1,500.
