Ms. Jocelyn Yi-Hsuan Lai Wins Young Scholar Award from European Association of Taiwan Studies

The Foundation is pleased to announce that one of its ROC Doctoral Dissertation Fellows for 2013, Ms. Jocelyn Yi-Hsuan Lai, was jointly awarded first place for the fifth Young Scholar Award from the European Association of Taiwan Studies. Her award winning essay, entitled “Imaging Taiwanese in East Asia: Taiwanese Inter-Asian Idol Dramas in the Twenty-first Century”, was presented at the Association’s annual conference held in Krakow, Poland, on April 8-10, 2015. The essay is based on her doctoral research at King’s College London, which examines the development of “Asianized” TV dramas in Taiwan during the past two decades.
