Congratulations to Emeritus Board Member Cho-yun Hsu for being Honored with the 2024 Tang Prize in Sinology
Jun 24, 2024On June 20, 2024, Emeritus Board Member Cho-yun Hsu was honored with the bestowal of the 2024 Tang Prize in Sinology. He integrated methodologies drawn from social sciences into historical research in his early career and devoted himself to comprehensive historical narratives in his later years. His scholarship reflects historical insights that take one to look into not only the bygone ages but the present and future, such that it embodies a blend of antiquity and modernity.
Emeritus Board Member Hsu, who is also an Academia Sinica Academician and Professor Emeritus at the University of Pittsburgh, has devoted his distinguished career to the study of Chinese cultural history, and has earned worldwide renown for his stimulating research results. In addition, he has consistently helped the Foundation in its efforts to promote international scholarly exchange. The Foundation is deeply proud of his exceptional achievements having been recognized in the form of this great honor.
